Yes, the roof is engineered for repeated removal and replacement. The bolts are typically replaced with new hardware on each reinstall, and the sealing strip is replaced when it shows wear. Most real installs remove the roof once at install and possibly once again during a major service across the container’s working life. The bolt-and-seal system handles many more cycles without degrading.

Do hardtop containers come in a refrigerated or insulated version?

Hardtops are dry containers by default. The removable roof design does not lend itself to the integrated insulation panels and refrigeration ductwork of a reefer. For cold-storage applications requiring overhead loading access, the typical solution is a standard hardtop modified with after-market insulation and an HVAC or refrigeration unit, or a factory reefer with a top hatch retrofit. Both are custom modification paths rather than off-the-shelf units.
