Acceptance
By using vbinc.ca or buying a shipping container from Van Blanc Ent. Inc. (“Van Blanc,” “we,” “us”), you agree to these terms. Quotes, orders, and deliveries are all subject to this document, which is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
What we sell
Van Blanc sells new and used ISO shipping containers (20-foot, 40-foot, 40-foot high-cube, 53-foot high-cube), reefer containers, and custom modifications from four supply yards in the Brantford area. We have been in business since 1995. We let you pick the specific container you are buying. You are welcome to walk our yard and inspect the unit before paying.
Quotes and pricing
- Quotes are valid for 14 days unless otherwise noted.
- Prices include the container and standard delivery within Ontario; out-of-province delivery is quoted separately.
- HST applies to all sales to Canadian addresses.
- Final price is confirmed in writing (email or signed quote) before any deposit is taken.
Deposits and payment
We accept deposits by e-transfer, cheque, or wire to our verified Van Blanc Ent. Inc. business account only. We never take deposits over the phone to a personal account, and we never ask for payment to release a container at delivery. If you are uncertain about any payment request, call us directly at (519) 754-6844 to verify before sending money.
Balance is due before or on delivery. Containers remain the property of Van Blanc until paid in full.
Delivery
- Standard Ontario delivery is 1 to 3 business days from order confirmation, depending on your location.
- You are responsible for ensuring the drop site is accessible to a tilt-deck truck and that you have any required permits or property-owner permission.
- If our driver cannot deliver due to site access issues, a return trip is billed at our published rate.
- Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. We will not be liable for losses caused by reasonable delays (weather, road closures, supplier delays).
Inspection and condition
Used containers are sold “as inspected.” We strongly encourage you to view your specific container in our yard before delivery. This is the main reason we operate four physical yards. Once you accept delivery, the container is considered to be in the condition you agreed to. Wind- and watertight (WWT) and cargo-worthy (CW) gradings are documented on the bill of sale where applicable.
Returns and refunds
Because containers are large, individually selected, and delivered by tilt-deck truck, sales are final once the unit leaves our yard. If we make an error (wrong container delivered, undisclosed material damage), we will replace the unit or refund in full at our discretion. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery to start a claim.
Warranties
New (one-trip) containers carry the manufacturer’s warranty where applicable. Used containers are sold without warranty beyond the WWT or CW grading on the bill of sale. We do not warranty containers against issues caused by buyer modification, ground settling, or normal weathering after delivery.
Custom modifications
Modified containers (doors, windows, insulation, electrical, paint) are quoted on a project basis with a separate scope-of-work document. Modification deposits are non-refundable once fabrication begins.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Ontario law, Van Blanc’s liability for any claim arising from a sale or delivery is limited to the purchase price of the affected container. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (lost business, loss of use, damage to items stored inside the container after delivery).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Brant County or, where applicable, the Ontario Small Claims Court.
