Grade Walkthrough: One-Trip, CW, WWT, As-Is

Multiple ocean crossings, surface rust on panels, paint variance, occasional small dents, but the structural frame and the floor have been inspected for heavy-duty load capacity. Right grade if you are exporting cargo, running high-density industrial storage, or putting the bin somewhere cosmetic wear does not matter. Mid-range pricing.

Wind & Watertight (WWT). Used containers guaranteed weather-resistant and rodent-proof but no longer certified for further international shipping. Visible cosmetic wear, surface rust on most panels, occasional dents, faded paint. Doors close and seal. Right grade for farm storage, household renovation storage, equipment shelter, anything stationary on land where cosmetic wear is not a concern. As-Is. The fourth grade. We carry it but rarely recommend it. Older units with structural questions: floor damage, frame issues, or door problems. The Facebook trap reaches rural Ontario as easily as the cities, because a listing does not care where the buyer lives. A Facebook Marketplace listing pops up offering a “one-trip 40ft” at a price well below market. The seller has a profile that looks reasonable. Pictures of containers in some yard somewhere. A request for a partial deposit “to hold the unit.” Two weeks later the bin has not arrived and the seller has gone dark. The buyer ends up calling us to ask what to do.

The pattern is consistent enough that we recognise it now from the first sentence of the call. Many people call us saying they can get a bin less on Facebook. Two weeks later they call back, scammed. Don’t fall for it. The deposits are gone, the listings disappear, and the buyers have no recourse because the operation was never registered, never traceable, never real.
